After a long association with PPI, Dr. Todd retired from
PPI on his 80th Birth Day as of Dec. 21, 2005.
PPI honors him as Principal Consultant
Emeritus and commemorated his 80th Birthday with a presentation of
CD which contains the information about Biography, List of Publications and Patents
and selected publications and all of his patents.
We wish him a wonderful full time “Honey-Do”
life with Marilyn in West Windsor, NJ.
Prior
to his affiliation as a Principal Consultant with PPI, Dr. Todd
became Vice President, Technology for APV when APV acquired Baker Perkins in
1987. Dr. Todd joined Baker Perkins in 1967,
and became its Technical Director, at the time of its acquisition of the Podbielniak Centrifugal Contactor line from Dresser
Industries, Inc. At Podbielniak, he was manager of
Engineering and prior experience included several years with Shell
Development Company where he headed a process Engineering Group. He received
his B.S. and M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering at Northwestern University
and his Ph.D. in the same field from Princeton University. A year of his
graduate work included a Fulbright Fellowship at the Technical University of
Delft in the Netherlands. His work has been primarily in the field of
equipment design, polymer processing, mixing, extraction, fluidization and pelletizing.
Dr.
Todd is a Research Professor in the Chemical
Engineering Department at NJIT. He is a licensed professional Engineer in New
Jersey, Illinois and Michigan. He holds 21 US patents and has authored over
100 technical articles. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical
Engineers, the Society of Plastics Engineers, and a member of the American
Chemical Society and the Polymer Processing Society.
In
1993, the Society of Plastics Engineers presented him with its International
Award for Engineering and Technology. In 1997, the SPE’s
Extrusion Division presented Dr. Todd with
its Distinguished Service Award. In 1998, he received the NAMF Award for
“sustained contributions to Mixing Research and Practice” from the AICHE. In
2002, the SPE Extrusion Division presented Dr.Todd with the “Heinz Herrman Award for Excellence in Twin Screw Extrusion”.
